Ce nouveau talent de la scène internationale nommé Emerson Todd s’est fait un nom pendant ces 10 dernières années dans l’hémisphère sud. Ayant commencé en Nouvelle Zélande en tant que moitié du duo House Of Downtown (avec 2 albums et une bande originale de film à leurs actif), Todd a déménagé en Australie en 2003 pour se concentrer sur une autre de ses activités : l’ingénierie sonore. Il habite maintenant au Royaume Uni.

Mais Emerson Todd n’était pas parti pour en rester là, quand arrive en 2009 le puissant ‘Dr Jurd’, avec la bénédiction de Get Physical pour son premier EP à sortir sur le label. Le morceau éponyme est d’une house sur-entraînante, agrémentée de rythmes tribaux et de samples vocaux envoutants avant d’évoluer en une tech-house d’une propreté indiscutable aux synthés magnifiques.

‘Javob’, quant à lui, est un monstre dancefloor, soufflant et fulminant. des rythmique façon respiration et une ligne de basse mélodique incroyablement puissante font la colonne vertébrale de ce morceau. C’est gros, gras , et reconnaissable en un instant grâce à son groove lent et profond sur de réchauffer les clubs dans les mois à venir.

Enfin, ‘Touche’ s’attaque à la deep house à l’américaine, avec une rythmique urgente, des nappes chaleureuse, une basse funky ainsi qu’un break atmosphérique en faisant toute sa beauté en milieu de morceau.

Une sortie qui montre une nouvelle fois l’habileté de Get Physical à révéler les talents au grand public.

A new talent on the international scene, Emerson Todd has been making a name for himself for over 10 years in the southern hemisphere. Starting out in NZ as one half of House Of Downtown – who produced 2 full length albums and a film score – Todd relocated to Australia in 2003 and shifted his focus towards audio engineering. He is now based in the UK.

Emerson Todd’s profile is set to rise rise further still in 2009 when the good ‘Dr. Jurd’ makes a house call, courtesy of his Get Physical debut EP. The title track’s driving house grooves pulsate with infectious tribal rhythms and cut-up vocal samples, before evolving into sleek, synth-driven tech-house.

‘Jacob’ is a living, breathing dancefloor monster. Rhythmic breath sounds and a wickedly fat, melodic bassline hold this track together. It’s big bold and instantly recognisable with a deep, low groove that is sure to be heating up the clubs in the coming months.

‘Touche’ touches on US-style deep house, with urgent beats, warm pads, a funky bass melody and key stabs, and an epic, atmospheric breakdown holding it down in the middle.

This release is definitely showing Get Physical’s ability to reveal talents to the public eyes and ears.

Markus Wesen originaire de cologne peut maintenant être considéré comme faisant parti de la famille Ohral en tant que DJ et producteur. Il a également été extrêmement occupé ces derniers temps avec des morceaux sortis sur des labels majeurs tels que Blue Fin, Global Underground, Peep Show ou encore Weplayminimal .
Le morceau original, Kidergarten a déja attiré l’attention de Dj internationaux tels que Steve Lawler. Cet expert étant connu pour une touche housy très particulière : attendez vous à du tribal fort bien produit, mais également à une construction dans le temps développant une atmosphère non pas de manière agressive, mais plutôt avec une finesse bien plus efficace.

Orhal a trouvé en M.in un maitre du genre pour remixer le morceau original. Il n’est point besoin de vous rappeler ses remixs pour Get Physical / Thomas Schumacher ou encore son propre label Weplayminimal. Son remix vous emmènera dans un voyage techno funky plein d’inépuisable groove à ne pas pouvoir s’arrêter de bouger.

Le dernier morceau n’en est pas moins d’une qualité sans partage : Markus revient aux racines de son propre travail quelques semaines plus tard avec un rework d’une intensité techno nettement supérieure à l’original.

The Cologne based Markus Wesen is now definitely part of the Ohral family as a presenting DJ as well as a producer. Markus has been extremely busy in recent times releasing many tracks on credible and respected labels such as Blue Fin, Global Underground as well as Peep Show or Weplayminimal

The original track, ‘Kindergarten’ has already arisen interest from international DJs such as Steve Lawler. The expert is known for a certain kind of housy trademark : some well crafted tribal style is to be expected, but also a certain construction overtime, developing the atmosphere not in an aggressive way but in an even more efficient one.

Ohral have found in M.in an undisputed master of his genre as a remixer. We remind you of his remixes for Get Physical / Thomas Schumacher or even his own label imprint Weplayminimal as proves. His remix sounds like a very funky techno trip making you move and groove.

Last but not least, Markus dedicates himself once again to the roots of his own work with the distance of a couple of weeks. No doubt this rework will be way more techno sounding.

Definitely some kind of precious item coming up.

Peter Grummich est un homme dont le passé mérite d’être souligné. Il a produit de la house et techno pendant les dix dernières années sur quelques uns des meilleurs labels électroniques en europe. Il apporte a son travail une technique unique et un sens profond de l’harmonie. Segeltuch est un long et sombre et voyage tech-house, agrémenté de caisses claires massives et de cymbales aèriennes mélangées à un synthé menaçant tout en effets vaporeux. Tout ceci conjugué a des nappes de violons façon Detroit ainsi qu’à des envolées de sons analogiques reflète le gout prononcé de Peter pour les productions détaillées. Le plus remarquable concernant cette palette de sons  est la versatilité apportée au morceau, entre construction dans la durée et énergie.

Elevation Funk n’est pas une face B comme vous en rencontrerez partout, il s’agit plutot d’un groove house super sexy efficace à souhait. Des piques de synthés analogiques planants se transforment petit à petit pour donner un swing incomparable a l’ensemble, tandis que des effets de synthé étranges ainsi qu’un souffle entêtant rajoutent un petit plus à faire remuer les épaules. C’est à mi chemin que Peter fait venir doucement un son de cymbale, pour amener cette bombe à cuisson lente à ébullition. En somme un ep que l’on risque d’entendre pour un bon moment sur les dancefloors de la planète.

Peter Grummich is a man who needs little introduction. Peter has been producing grade-A techno and house for over a decade now on some of the most established electronic dance music labels in Europe. Peter’s unique production techniques draw upon a deeper sense of music. Segeltuch is a dark and stripped down tech-house journey. Chunky snares and simplistic high hats meld with ominous synth dripping with dub-styled delays. Classically Detroit sustained string sounds and rich analogue sweeps reflect Peter’s loving detail oriented production at it’s finest. What is most remarkable about this collection of sounds is that it gives Segeltuch a remarkable versatility, both dancefloor energy and time.

Elevation Funk is no average b-side. Elevation Funk is a super sexy house groove that does the job right. Deep and hypnotic analogue stabs slowly modulate to keep the bodies swinging on the dancefloor. Odd synthetic effects and cut up noises just drip in overdriven dub-styled delays keeping the groove from getting style and providing  delicious ear candy for the dancefloor. Then about half way through this journey Peter slowly brings back in a wet sounding hat pattern to bring this slow cooking bomb to the boiling point. An Ep that might be heard for a long time on most of the planet’s dancefloors.

Alex Dimou est un producteur grec né en 1988 et qui a grandit à Lamia, une petite ville au centre de la Grèce. S’il y avait un terme qui puisse décrire Alex Dimou, ce serait sans aucun doute le talent. En effet, la carrière d’Alex dans la production a commencé il y a deux ans à Athènes, alors qu’il avait seulement 18 ans. Méfiez-vous, ce n’est pas parce que cela fait seulement deux ans qu’il est arrivé sur les devants de la scène électronique que ses compositions ne sont pas à la hauteur. Alex a progressé très vite depuis ses toutes premières productions.
Ce petit génie reviens donc sur Devilock Records avec le premier d’une série de deux EPs. Sa touche sonore vous emportera dans les profondeurs d’une tech-house tintée et son groove s’emparera de vous.

Alex Dimou is a Greek producer born in 1988 who grew up in Lamia, a little town situated in the middle of Greece. If we had to choose one word to describe Alex Dimou, it would be « talent ». Alex’s career began two years ago in Athens, when he was only 18 years old. It’s not because he has been taking part in the electronic music scene for only 2 years that his tracks are not good enough. Alex improved himself incredibly fast since the release of his first productions.

This young genius is back on Devilock Records with the first one of two Eps to be released soon, his sound will take you to the depths of a ringing tech-house and its undescribable groove will transcend you.

La famille Souvenir s’agrandit avec deux nouveaux arrivants, deux nouveaux remixs et quatre nouveaux morceaux essentiels, veuillez accueillir chaleureusement le Global vibes par C.J. Jeff, M.in ainsi que leurs remixs par Kreon et Santé sur le Souvenir 021.

La face A est à l’honneur de la talentueuse scène électronique Grecque, avec C.J. Jeff aka Nikos Safiris qui a construit son son à travers des sorties sur Modern Love ou sur son propre label Rythmetic.
Il signe une entrée remarquable sur Souvenir avec la face A « Got To B » : levez les bras et prenez une grande inspiration! une tribu de joueurs bongos furieux vous entoure quand soudain une voix de shaman androgyne commence à vous entrainer dans une danse endiablée. Ce morceau ne peux pas ne pas être un hit.

Kreon, quant à lui a connu un regain d’attention à son égard de part ses apparitions sur Cecille Numbers, Resopal ou encore Robsoul. Il signe un remix dub, de parfaite manière pour pousser la soirées jusqu’aux premières lueurs du jour.

De retour a l’Allemagne sur la face B, M.in aka Markus Ferdinand de Francfort a montré ses talents de producteur avec des sorties sur OFF, Robsoul ou encore International Freakshow, bénéficiant du soutien de grands noms tels que Josh Wink, Johnny D, Thomas Schumacher ou encore DJ T. Il s’agit une nouvelle fois de sensations profondes sur ce morceau, des vocales hantées aux rythmes afros.

Les frères Tiefschwarz quant à eux ont matraqué le « Capetown River Boating » durant leurs tournée de cet été. Il est donc temps pour vous d’envoyer une bénédiction sud africaine à votre entourage.
Le partenaire de studio de Ali et Basti, Philipp « Santé » Maier a à peine sorti « Dambalaa » le mois dernier qu’il est déjà de retour en production, ce qui ne vous déplaira certainement pas. Sa marque de fabrique, une approche totalement percussive et un groove enivrant s’accommode très bien au morceau d’origine “Capetown River Boating”…
Score final 2-2, et nous nous dirigeons avec plaisir vers les prolongations de la soirée!

Again we are talking about deep sensations, haunting vocals and afro rhythms.
