L’artiste né à Détroit est sans conteste l’un des producteurs les plus prolifiques du moment en matière de tracks parfaits. Une fois de plus il nous signe un maxi de haute volée composé de trois tracks. On a ce Cliche, une superbe montée de piano alliée à une espèce de douceur deep magique et une massive basse… Envoutant n’est-ce pas ? Arrive ensuite l’acidulé Machine Sympathy. Grosse rythmique house tech, le track évolue pour devenir de plus en plus dark et puissant. Et ce vocal de pimp ! « Work That Shit ! » La pression monte… merde ! QUELLE balle ! La pression redescend avec doigté sur One Man Army. C’est doux. Bref, c’est sorti sur Morris Audio et c’est le skeud à avoir dans son bac !

Originally from Detroit, he is one of the most prolific artists of these days, especially in terms of tracks you can not critique, we’re talking about Kris Wadsworth who signs once again a highly rated Ep. First with the track ‘Cliche’, including magnificent piano notes flying around deep and magical melodies combined with a massive bassline… Isn’t this making you dream? Enough said, the Ep is out on Morris Audio and it’s one record you must have in your crate at all costs.

Today we welcome Dj Dub, one of the proud representative of the electronic music scene from the other side of the lake in Geneva from the mid-nineties. In his crates are battling House, Techno and Deep influences, with the whole frame remaining definitely underground. He synthesizes influences to offer great quality sets. His passion for this type of sounds brought him to act the same way while programming the famous Overground festival in Geneva, taking place every summer on an old boat from the Geneva boat club for 10 days.

Activistes de la scène minimale parisienne depuis sa création en 2006, Antislash produit une house pointue et destructrice de dancefloor. En live, ils partagent généreusement leur passion pour les musiques électroniques et la fête. Le groupe se développe au sein de l’équipe du Zerozero et participe à la programmation musicale du zerozerobar ainsi qu’au développement de radiozerozero.com
Après plusieurs sorties sur les labels Circus Company, Karat et Frankie Records, Antislash vient de sortir un Ep sur le label Salon records avec un remix de Moritz Piske. Le groupe se consacre à la création/production musicale en résidence dans leur studio de Montreuil et collaborent avec nombre d’artistes français et étrangers (Grifin’, Ava’s Verden, Ark, Moritz Piske, Minimono, Tin Man, Paulice,…).
En concert, leur idée de la création est simple : transmettre leur passion de la musique électronique à travers un live ludique et énergique qui est avant tout une représentation de leur passion commune. Depuis 2006, ils ont joué dans les clubs les plus prestigieux de la capitale comme le Rex Club, le Nouveau Casino ou le Batofar, et également à travers l’Europe, à Berlin, Londres, Genève, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Jena, Leipzig etc.

Ils étaient accompagnés d’Arnaud et Jonas Sella d’Input Selector, et Piveto et Mos Eisley d’Essential Groove.

Kate Simko s’est façonné une sérieuse réputation au fil de ces dernières années avec des signatures sur certains des labels les plus respectés de la sphère électronique mondiale (Ghostly International, Spectral Sound, Supplement Facts…) et notamment après avoir fait forte impression l’année dernière lors de la sortie de son délectable premier album sur Hello?Repeat. La bonne nouvelle, c’est que l’artiste américaine sortira un nouvel EP début juin. Si ce dernier présente une première face appuyée d’un remix de John Tejada, on a plus accroché sur la « b-side » proposant deux versions de Go On Then (un featuring avec Jem Cook) qui sera indéniablement joué et rejoué en club cet été !

Kate Simko has fashioned a solid reputation over the years with signatures on some of the most respected labels in the electronic sphere world (Ghostly International, Spectral Sound, Supplement Facts …), and especially last year with the release of her highly acclaimed debut album on Hello?Repeat. Breaking news: the American artist will release in early June a new EP on UK based imprimt Leftroom Records. Even if it has a first face supported by a remix by John Tejada, we have more hooked on the « b-side » offering two versions of Go On Then (a featuring with JemCook) who will undoubtedly be played again and again in club this summer!

Boris Horel started his record collection age 14 in his home town of Royan, west coast, France. Back then, his first love was for african groove. Slowly, it is the all world music (the quality one) and soul/jazz who makes him understand the power of music and it s content of emotion. Then came electronic music and soon, the interest of mixing all those influences together becomes a reality when Boris is proposed to mix in this bar and clubs around. After finishing his studies in fine art, Boris Horel arrived in London to start his residency at Momo’s famous Kemia bar/club in early 2000. He will be playing for 3 years, every night of the week, a 5 hours set, contributing of the reputation of the place and it’s winning awards of london best bar. Mixing exclusivly electronic music, from electronica to minimal house, Boris was the obvious candidate for the position of resident DJ at Sketch opening in 2003. Since then he has also built a reputation for his deep late-night sets at seminal London house night « Foreign Muck » at the Key club, alongside international guest. in 2005 Boris joined the T bar team in East London for a monthly residency. He’s trying to keep two important elements of his concept: suggestivity of the story, srtongness of the structure. Boris just signed on Eklo with a great remix from our dear Cabanne and you’ll see he didn’t forgot his values in this two hours mix.

Entre autres Ron Trent, Kerri Chandler, Dj Deep, James Johnston, Andre Lodemann ou encore Jimpster…

Il parcours depuis les clubs de Londres, Manchester, Hard Times à Leeds, New-York, Paris, Croatie, Allemagne, Espagne… pour laisser une empreinte et une trace comme il le dit. Son plus grand plaisir reste de partager le bonheur que lui procure la musique avec ses amis djs, producteurs et avec le plus grand nombre. Suffisamment de raisons pour lui donner l’envie d’aller encore plus loin dans l’établissement de sa griffe en tant que producteur et artiste.

Every deejay express his vision of music in general through his record collection. Gwen, a former resident of Nantes now exiled in London, has a very broad vision, thanks to his incredible collection which he increases continually. His different trips around the globe allowed him to dig and bring back the best gems from various styles such as disco, Brasilian music, Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, Deep House and Classic House. He was born in 1973 and fell in love with House music listening to Tony Humphries dj sets on tapes. As he narrowed his style by the time, he bought his first drum machine and started producing, with the sounds of Kerri Chandler, Todd Terry or Kenny Dope as an essential inspiration.

He released his first track on label Yellow Productions in a Kenlou vibe, before creating his ow imprint Space Breaks Records, with a specific deep, raw and rough sound. He acquired a real legitimacy among big names such as Ron Trent, Kerri Chandler, Dj Deep, James Johnston, Andre Lodemann or even Jimpster.

He is now running between clubs in London, Manchester, Leeds, New-York, Paris, Croatia, Germany, Spain… All with the purpose to leave his footprint around this planet, but also to share his happiness of listening to good music with deejay, producers, and of course with the audience. All these reasons pushing him forward to showcase his talents as a producer and artist.

L’artiste australien Ben Frost a sorti en 2009 un album incroyable intitulé By The Throat. Sur cet LP signé Bedroom Community, il s’est allié au pianiste Nico Muhly (qui a déjà travaillé avec des grands noms comme Phillip Glass ou encore Björk), du quartet de cordes Amiina (qui accompagne depuis de nombreuses années Sigur Rós sur scène et en studio), de Jeremy Gara (batteur de The Arcade Fire), ainsi que la collaboration plus intime de Lawrence English (qui l’épaule déjà depuis deux albums) et du contrebassiste Borgar Magnason. Entre IDM, ambient et expérimental By The Throat est un appel au voyage rappelant quelque peu la touche du grand Carsten Nicolai alias Alva Noto. On a tout particulièrement adoré le morceau Leo Needs A New Pair Of Shoes. Très influencé par le minimalisme classique et par le punk rock, Ben Frost s’aventure sur cet album dans des contrées sombres et déstructurées à la fois très riches en couleurs, très minimaliste et épurées.

The Australian Ben Frost released an incredible album in 2009, entitled « By The Throat ». This LP was signed on the label Bedroom Community, and features the talents of Nico Muhly (talented pianist who collaborated with great names such as Phillip Glass or Björk), but also the Chord quartet Amiina ( collaborating on stage and in the studio with Sigur Rós), and other interesting influences, such as Jeremy Gara (Arcad Fire Drummer), Lawrence English (who collaborated on the two past albums) and the double bass player Borgar Magnasson. This album oscillates between IDM, ambiant and experimental vibes. It represents a call for travel beyond horizon, which reminds us of the specific touch of Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto. Our favorite track from the Lp, « Leo Needs A New Pair Of Shoes made us think that Ben Frost was influenced by classic minimalistic music to the same extent as punk rock, bringing this very specific atmosphere between dark and unstructured landscapes, but also very rich in terms of colours. All in all, a brilliant, minimalistic and clean piece of art.

23h : déjà fini ?! Le temps de ranger nos disques, le Sonic Crew tenait déjà le public en haleine. Arno Gonzalez présentait ensuite son nouveau live en parfaite harmonie avec le vidéo plasticien Scouap. Non contre l’idée que Radio Slave soit remplacé (car bloqué à Berlin en raison de la Fashion Week) par Clement Meyer, nous étions tout de même curieux de voir s’il serait à la hauteur. Résultat : un set à la fois dark, fin et puissant, défi relevé !

Samedi. Lever difficile et macdo requinquant derrière nous, direction le Centre d’art Passerelle où jouaient quelques guests pour l’Apéro In Silencio. Le concept est original : prendre un casque pour écouter l’un des deux sets proposés dans ce cadre de fou. Quelques heures plus tard on arrive à la Carène après avoir loupé Valentin Stip et le début de Nicolas Jaar. Déçus par ce dernier dont les productions laissaient espérer un live plus élégamment amené, on est partis voir Mr Scruff. Et là, énorme claque ! Un set quatre platines tout aussi diversifié que de qualité. Alors que la petite salle se faisait retourner, celui qu’on attendait le plus commençait : François K. Si l’ensemble de son set techno était assez dantesque, on se serait cependant passé des bangers qu’il a pu jouer…

À l’ambiance parfaite de chaque année, on y ajoutera la gentillesse et l’accueil de toute l’équipe derrière le festival. Une belle première qui a réunit autour de 5000 festivaliers !

Mr Scruff @ Festival Astropolis Hiver, La Carène, Brest

La maison Input Selector a l’immense plaisir de vous annoncer la dernière sortie de son membre le plus prolifique. En effet, Jonas Sella est de retour après son succès sur Telegraph avec la première sortie du jeune label Micromod. Deux de ses productions sont à l’honneur, accompagnées de remixes par Cabanne et Ana+one. On y retrouve sa patte si spécifique : des rythmiques millimétrées aux atmosphères complexes et influences au delà de tous horizons. Le morceau Ptyrah en est l’exemple, proposant un groove profond qui transporte, agrémenté d’éléments de rythmique curieux et bien pensés. Le remix proposé par Cabanne, boss du label Minibar, apporte une facette plus efficace et feutrée, sorte d’énorme tool mettant l’eau à la bouche de l’auditeur. Le canadien Ana+one (prononcez Anatone) donne quand à lui une version micro house plus mentale du track éponyme. Pour conclure l’EP, 21 Uinj casse à la fois la baraque et le côté deep de Ptyrah.

The Input Selector family is proud to announce the newest release from our most productive member Jonas Sella. After a brilliant release one the prestigious imprint Telegraph, he is now back with the first release of a brand new label Micromod. Two of his tracks are featured this time, along with remixes from Cabanne and Ana+one. Once again, his very specific touch is given to both tracks: ultra precise rhythmic patterns, complex atmospheres and influences further than any horizon. “Ptyrah” is a perfect example of such an involvement with details, offering the strangest drum patterns along with an incredibly deep groove. Cabanne’s remix, on the other hand, is more like a huge rhythmic tool pressurizing the listener with style. The Canadian producer Ana+one (pronounce Anatone) brings a different version with some kind of deep micro-house crazyness. To conclude this ep, the “21 Uinj” track blows up the mansion, bringing the perfect balance to the deepness of Ptyrah.

Daze Maxim dirige le label Hello?Repeat en compagnie de Jan Krueger et produit de la musique depuis plus de 10 ans. En plus d’énormes sorties sur son label, Daze a aussi signé chez Cocoon Recordings, Platzhirsch Schallplatten, LesIzmo:r, Harthouse, Serial Killers Haircut et plein d’autres… Etant l’un des ténors de la minimal house, il nous aura surtout marqué avec des titres comme Heaven Raw, Tomorrow Universe ou encore Some Do Fine qu’il a sorti sous le nom de Heartz4.

Jonas Sella [Input Selector, Telegraph, Timid Records]

Depuis maintenant quelques années, Jonas fait des émules. Après de nombreuses signatures sur les labels Timid Records, Multivitamins ou encore Nordik Net Records, il signe sur le prestigieux label Telegraph. Entre temps, il enchaine les dates dans des lieux de prestiges tels que le Festival Astropolis où il a déjà fait trois apparitions, le festival des Nuits Sonores ainsi qu’au Point Ephemère ou à Liège. Dolibox et Tom Ellis déjà dans la liste de ses remixeurs, l’artiste de 22 ans vient tout juste d’avoir l’honneur d’y greffer le prestigieux Cabanne !

Arnaud [Input Selector, Trax Magazine, Tablon Records]

Créateur d’Input Selector écrivant aussi pour Trax Magazine, Arnaud a derrière lui une belle ascension ! En trois ans de djing, il a joué sur de grandes scènes comme Astropolis, La Machine Du Moulin Rouge ou encore Le Lieu Unique et partagé l’affiche d’artistes de renoms tels que Tevo Howard, Portable aka Bodycode, Noze ou encore Jef K. Deux remixes sortis sur les écuries anglaises Elevation et Release Sustain, il ajoutera prochainement la première sortie vinyle du label Tablon Records à sa discographie après seulement une année à produire.

Combe [Input Selector, Goûtez Electronique]

Du haut de ses 25 ans, Combe est un des plus vieux larrons de la bande et aussi l’un des djs les plus respectés de la région. Ancien résident des Caves du Castel, il n’est pas rare de le croiser derrières les platines des clubs nantais. Il s’est aussi retrouvé au programme d’Astropolis à deux reprises ainsi qu’aux Nuits Sonores et Scopitone. Doté d’une collection de vinyles à rendre jaloux les plus férus d’entre nous, c’est sans vergogne qu’il n’hésites pas à partager avec passion son amour pour la musique électronique.

Cleonce [Input Selector, Tablon Records]

Cleonce est en quelque sorte la B-Side du crew. C’est en grand fan de hip hop et de dub qu’il s’est aventuré dans la musique électronique il y a plusieurs années. Producteur prolifique, il a d’ailleurs sorti un remix avec Jonas sur le label turque Zey Production et accompagnera Arnaud et Mos Eisley d’un featuring dub techno sur Tablon Records. Il  fut résident d’un club en Australie et a fait de nombreuses apparitions dans l’Ouest notamment lors de la première édition hivernale du Festival Astropolis.

Since a while ago, Arno Gonzalez has been sharing his passion for electronic music all around the world. He ventured a bit everywhere all around Europe, with appearances in Russia and Turkey. Some of his tracks stayed printed in our memories such as My Link To The Past, which received support from huge names like Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Funk’D Void, Chloé…). He started producing 13 years ago and signed on prestigious labels such as Missive, Timid, Fine Art, Eternithouse, Ftw and Sidechain. He also recently released his first album  » Encounters » on Timid Records, including collaborations with TEPR, Jonas Sella, Thomas Sari, Elysse and Georges Guelters. But today, the master from Angers comes back with a re-interpretation of his set at Astropolis festival silent disco gig « Apero In Silencio ». If you did not have the chance to enjoy this session, just imagine a huge art showroom , neat but raw enough, where everyone could release their minds tripping around the silent walls and structures, enjoying the finest dj set through their interconnected headphones.

S’il y a bien un artiste qui a tout notre respect, c’est le rigoureux Donato Dozzy (de son vrai nom Donato Scaramuzzi) qui a su démontrer maintes fois qu’il savait aisément allier finesse, puissance et majestuosité. Son ami, l’ingé son Giuseppe Tillieci alias Neel (qui sortira un album solo courant 2012) avait déjà fait une apparition envoutante sur notre podcast. Nous vous avions d’ailleurs annoncé cette collaboration entre nos deux italiens favoris. Le duo baptisé Voices From The Lake vient tout juste de sortir un album après un premier EP sorti en juin 2011. Ce projet est le fruit d’un long et chaud été durant lequel ils ont travaillé ensembles. Le résultat donne une atmosphère en association de leurs influences : entre expérimental, ambient, deep et techno. Lorsque l’on écoute des morceaux d’un tel raffinement, il n’est plus possible de douter qu’une force divine habite certains d’entre nous.

If there ever was an artist owning our respect forever, it would be the delightful Donato Dozzy, who proved many times that he could easily provide such a blend of quality, power and mastery. His sound engineer friend Giuseppe Tillieci aka Neel (who is likely to release a solo album in 2012) already introduced himself to your delicate ears through our podcast, announcing this very promising collaboration between our two favorite Italian producers. The duo named « Voices From The Lake » just released an album after their first ep which came out in june 2011. This project comes out of a long and hot summer that saw them collaborating intensively, the result reflects this atmosphere through experimental, ambiant, deep and techno influences from both geniuses involved. Such masterpiece make us think it’s just very likely that these guys hold some divine force beneath them.

Pour rester dans les vieux trucs, on se devait de vous parler de ce chef-d’oeuvre qu’est l’Underground Live Act du légendaire Dj Cam (de son vrai nom Laurent Daumail) sorti en 1995 sur son label Inflammable Records. Au total 9 morceaux pour 37 minutes de voyage comme on en entend rarement. En passant par le Hip-Hop, l’Abstract, la Drum & Bass et des samples implacables, l’artiste français prend le contrôle de notre esprit avec une richesse sonore incroyable. A la fois puissant, planant et majestueux, ce live est sans conteste l’un des plus beaux que j’ai pu entendre.

Stucked once again with the old school smell we should talk about this stunning piece of art from the legendary DJ Cam (real name Laurent Daumail) with its Underground Live Act released in 1995 on his Inflammable Records outfit. The whole 9 tracks gather 37 minutes of a rarely and finest blissful moment through hip-hop, abstract and drum’n'bass with outstanding samples. The french artist takes control of our mind with an exclusively uplifting collection of sounds. With a goldhand of smoothful and blowing tunes this live is really epic and is one of the best experience I’ve never heard ever.

Sorti en juin 2003 sur Ovum, ce set est le second et l’un des meilleurs d’une longe série. Du genre de ceux que l’on rêverai d’entendre plus souvent en club aujourd’hui. C’est un peu la claque que l’on veut se prendre tous les weekends… Du Josh Wink à l’état pur, au top de sa forme !!! Mélange consécutif et évolutif de deep, house, acid et techno, ici l’artiste originaire de Pennsylvanie ne fait de concessions, pas le temps de souffler, ça t’agrippe ça t’attrape et ça fait pas de sentiments. Le Profound Sounds Vol. 2 est armé d’une redoutable tracklist aux grands noms capables de rendre fou et faire bander n’importe quel frénétique de bonne tech. Pour n’en citer que quelques uns : Swayzak, Ricardo Villalobos, Aaron Carl ou encore Dave Clarke… Alors si vous n’avez jamais encore écouté ce mix et que vous êtes en manque de bon son, foncez !

Born in France, Marcus Vector started in the wide world of electronic music when he turned 19. He began by doing warm-ups for Warp and Rephlex label nights under the alias Celophane. His meeting with Sierra Sam in 2004 led him to produce a very special type of techno with a clear dancefloor purpose, but still keeping experimental influences from both labels he collaborated with at the start of his career. From this collaboration was also created the label Toys For Boys. Since then, they both scored big releases on respected labels such as Supplement Facts, TuningSpork, Contexterrior, Dirt Crew and Time Has Changed. But they did not stop there, keeping up the innovation with their project DiY (Dumb Irresponsible Youth) meeting a broad positive feedback, before the newest project coming up from Marcus collaborating with Metrobox (We Play House). The pair is currently preparing a full analog live set. We had a listen to the first EP, and we can ensure you that this release will be out with a bang!

After participating to the process part series for modyfier, Rayna (the madam of the project) asked me if I should recommend her artists. Following her request, I suggested her to contact Chris we had already invited on Input Selector (one of the Australian guys behind the blog mnml ssgs). I just saw that he accepted this invitation and not in any way. I don’t used to share sets made ​​for other sites but it was necessary to depart from the rule. Fans of ambient and experimental sounds, do not miss this masterpiece.

On commencera par dire que même si certains d’entre nous ont découvert le label !K7 il n’y a pas si longtemps, ils le respectent déjà tant pour la qualité que l’originalité de ses sorties. Parmi celles-ci, nous nous devions de parler de Mr. Machine, fabuleux album du trio Brandt Brauer Frick. Composé par les musiciens Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer et Paul Frick (tous les trois originaires d’Allemagne), on y retrouve 8 morceaux à la fois émouvants, rigoureux et rythmés… voir même endiablés. Ils classifient d’ailleurs eux mêmes dans un style « emotional body music ». On avait failli oublier de vous parler de ce LP alors qu’il est pour nous l’album révélation de 2011.

Here we will start by announcing that, even if some of us discovered the label !K7 not so long ago, they already respect it big time in terms of quality and originality of releases. Among them, we had to mention Mr Machine, the amazing album from the trio Brandt Brauer Frick. This masterpiece was composed by Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer and Paul Frick ( all three from Germany ) and is made of 8 tracks full of emotions and rhythm, sometimes in a devilish way. They classify their own style as “emotional body music”, and it would have been a shame if we forgot to tell you about this LP, as it is one of the main revelations from 2011.
