Simon & Shaker Presents Teramik – Faces EP [State]

Ayant encore le goût de leurs succès en bouche depuis leurs dernier single « La Noche Del Cometa », le duo madrilène n’a pourtant pas consacré son été a uniquement faire la sieste, ils ont même trouvé le temps de sortir un nouveau paquet de morceaux sous leurs nom Teramik.

Leurs première sortie sous cet alias, intitulé « Plastic Upgrades EP » se concentrait davantage sur un son plus expérimental en provenance de Simon & Shaker, bien qu’ayant toujours le dancefloor en tête. Le « Faces EP » est apparu grâce a la même idée de départ.

Il s’agit de trois morceaux reflétant parfaitement ce qui se passe dans l’univers sonore de Simon & Shaker: « South Face » est une prise organique, pleine de qualité et d’énergie dans le groove; quant à ‘North Face’, le grand frère de ces deux morceaux, il pourrait être décrit comme un Dj Tool précis, froid et destructeur. L’expérimentation est servie une nouvelle fois: les deux morceaux proviennent de samples similaires mais débouchent sur deux univers totalement éloignés pouvant tout de même s’accommoder en pleine harmonie, les deux faces d’un seul et unique concept. Quant au troisième? « Jalisco » est un morceau bonus dans un style bien particulier… vous serez surpris à coup sûr !

Still with the taste of the success from the last single ‘La Noche Del Cometa’, the duo from Madrid have not taken a summer siesta and have found time to release a new bunch of tracks from their alias Teramik.

The first release by this alias, the ‘Plastic Upgrades EP’, focused on a more experimental sound from Simon & Shaker, which always kept the dance-floor in mind. The ‘Faces EP’ was born with the same idea.

Three tracks that reflect perfectly what is happening in the Simon & Shaker universe of sound: ‘South Face’ is a organic cut, with quality and a powering groove; next up is ‘North Face’, which we could say is the older brother of the two, a cold, precise, lethal DJ tool. The experiment is again served: both tacks come from a couple of similiar samples, that have created two universes apart which can be combined together in harmony. The two faces of a one and only concept. The third track is ‘Jalisco’, a bonus track and a style of it’s own… be surprised.
