Kollektiv Turmstrasse est une collaboration de Christian Hilscher et Nico Plagemann qui nous viennent de Hambourg. Tout a commencé en 1999, alors qu’ils partageaient le même appartement ils rendirent compte qu’ils partageaient la même passion pour la musique électronique.

Influencés par des artistes tels que Basic Channel, ils explorèrent différents styles et sonorités. Depuis longtemps, ils étaient tombés amoureux de l’effervescente scène musicale sur Internet. Internet est le principal champ d’action du collectif Kollektiv Turmstrasse.

2004 fut un tournant dans l’histoire de Kollektiv Turmstrasse.  En effet, le label digital No-response.org se transforma en la maison mère de Kollektiv Turmstrasse. Les années suivantes ils s’attachèrent à produire des sonorités distinctif qui les emmenèrent vers de nouvelles aventures. En 2006, ce fut la naissance de Musik Gewinnt Freunde et depuis Kollektiv Turmstrasse a sorti beaucoup de morceaux sur Ostwind Records, Connaisseur Records et évidement sur Musik Gewinnt Freunde. Kollektiv Turmstrasse is a project by Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann from Hamburg. It all started in 1999, with the two sharing an apartment together. As soon would become apparent, they also shared a deep passion for electronic music.

Influenced by the likes of Basic Channel, the duo went about exploring and experimenting with sounds and styles. Before long, they fell in love with the burgeoning net audio scene and the idealism it represented (and continues to represent). The net audio scene was soon to become a major platform for Kollektiv Turmstrasse.

2004 marked a turning point in the history of Kollektiv Turmstrasse. No-response.org, a net label for free electronic music, was formed, providing a permanent home for Kollektiv Turmstrasse. The following years were spent honing a distinctive sound and forging new plans and ventures. In 2006, Musik Gewinnt Freunde came to life. Since then, Kollektiv Turmstrasse has followed with numerous releases on Ostwind Records, Connaisseur Records and of course… Musik Gewinnt Freunde.
