Jeune ‘négropolitain’, Francois X a toujours vécu à Paris, mais ses racines plus profondes reposent en Afrique (à travers son père)… Région de Yoruba, un territoire Voodoo sans limites connu pour son culte des rythmes et chants sacrés.
Métisse vivant dans le district huppé de Levallois, François X pourrait ressembler plus à un joueur de bongo qu’à un chic bourgeois joueur de tennis professionnel (ce qu’il est en fait)… Mais ne vous laissez pas impressionner, ceci fait de François X le parfait exemple d’un artiste sous couverture de notre époque.
Combattant de la liberté, François n’en n’est pas non plus Malcom, il est plutôt un opérateur en douceur, agissant sur la haute société aussi bien que sur les endroits les plus durs. Amenant toutes sortes de morceaux au cross fader et réunissant différents goûts et personnes… Actualisant l’art du métissage avec sagesse grâce à son amour de la musique, à savoir la House Music!
Une culture musicale pleine de vie qu’il découvrit très jeune (dans les années 90) via Dj Deep (Le dj house n°1 à paris à travers ses plusieurs emissions de radio sur FG, Nova,etc…) maintenant depuis dix ans dans le métier, ses influences principales sont Detroit et Berlin (imaginez Théo Parrish et Omar affronter Basic Channel par exemple).
Ainsi, la musique qu’il joue de nos jours est un hazard entre la house originale, la techno de Detroit et la nouvelle explosion d’électrons Berlinois… sans oublier un zeste d’âme disco bien évidemment.
De nos jour, François x est Dj résident aux soirées Five Beats au Djoon, au Rex Club aux cotés du maitre house français des années 2000 Franck Roger / Real Tone Records ( dont les invités prestigieux comprennent Ame, Dixon, Laurent Garnier, Osunlade, Juan Atkins et la liste est longue), tout en conduisant le François X Blog, ou il partage tous les mois sa vision contemporaine de l’electro à travers son emission de radio.

Young nrgropolitan, Francois X always lived in Paris, France… But his deeper roots began in Africa (in Benin, where his father comes from… Yoruba region… The never ending Vodoo land and his cult of juju’s holy and chants).
Light skin blackman living in the posh district of Levallois, Francois X may look less like a bongo player then a thight bourgeois proffessional tennis player (which he is too actually)… but don’t let it fool you, hence the misterious X… Francois X is the perfect example of a true undercover artist of our times.
Freedom fighter, Francois ain’t Malcom either, he’s more of a smooth operator : mingling as easily within the high society as in the rouguer areas… Bringing seemingly different kinds of tunes upon the cross-fader and so bringing different kind of tastes and people together… Sagely updatind the art of « Métissage » thanks to his love of music !… House music that is !
Soulful musical culture which he discovered at a very tender age (in the early 90’s via Dj Deep (Paris number one house resource through his many radio shows on FG, Nova ect. Now ten years in the game his main influence are Detroit and Berlin (imagine Theo Parrish and Omar’s Battling with basic channel for example).
And so the music he’s playing today is a toss between the original house and techno made in detroit and the new breed of Berlin electrons, never forgetting just a pinch of diso soul.
Today, Francois X is a resident Dj at the Five Beats parties @ Djoon and Rex Club alongside the french deep house master of the years 2000, Franck Roger [Real Tone Records] (with prestigious guests including Ame, Dixon, Laurent Garnier, Osunlade, Juan Atkins and the list goes on) and he’s running the Francois X blog, where he share every month his contemprorary vision of electronic music though the Francois X radioshow.
